The Grey Girl

In an intermediate world, between what we know and what we believe, there was an island with a grey girl. Every morning, the little girl sat on the white sand at the edge of the beach, where she wished for and admired the colors around her. Tired of her grey appearance, one day, the girl decided to dive into the turquoise sea and steal its color, but she discovered that the color was in the deepest part of the ocean. Unable to hold her breath, the girl gave up.

A little sad and frustrated, the girl looked at the deep blue she had tried to steal. She turned her gaze to the sky and saw how, as the hours passed, the colors that combined her beloved blue began to fade. She watched new colors of orange, pink, and red emerge; the spectacle seemed wonderful to her, but it also filled her with sadness because she knew that darkness followed the arrival of the sun at the horizon.

With that sadness turning into fear, the girl ran towards the greenest and tallest mountain on the island, and in a desperate attempt to stop the giant yellow and its descent into the sea, she jumped to stop it. The sun, who watched daily as she tried to steal the blue, caught her in the air and with a sweet kiss on her forehead gave her its light. The girl’s grey color turned into a brilliant silver, which illuminated everything and chased away the darkness that followed.

The sun sat her in the sky and left her there, he said goodbye and went to sleep. The amazed girl saw all the new colors that her silver glow generated on earth: purples, blues, and sky blues all like a parade in front of her. The silver girl had never been so happy.
